One in three women will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during your lifetime.
She may be your friend, neighbor, mother, sister or even your daughter.
An estimated 692,000 women were diagnosed with some form of cancer in 2008. More than 260,000 of these women were diagnosed with breast cancer or some type of gynecologic cancer.
According to the American Cancer Society:
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime.
One in 40 women will get endometrial cancer.
One in 72 women will get ovarian cancer.
More than 40,000 new cases of uterine cancer (uterine sarcoma) are diagnosed yearly.
More than 11,000 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed yearly.
