BVCS Lady Lion's Soccer Program

Soccer at Big Valley Christian High started in the fall of 2002 as a co-ed team.  Big Valley Christian High School was in its second year and this was the first year for a sports program.  In 2003 Coach Ed Limon stepped down and Coach Ryan Poling took over.  For two years Big Valley Christian played as a co-ed team until the school was big enough to create a girls and boys team for the 2005-2006 school year.  Coach Limon then took over the Lady Lion's program in 2006.  The 2016 season will mark the eleventh year of the Lady Lion's Program!

The Lady Lions

Pictured is our first Big Valley Christian Lady Lions Team, 2006 season!  It was our probation year but it was a start.  Great memories were created as well as friendships!  Through the years we have seen former players become wives and recently mothers!  These young ladies are attending college or have graduated.  We are proud of the tradition that these ladies laid down.  Their foundation has propelled other team members to create new traditions and outreaches!  2016 marks our eleventh year as a program and the girls are gearing up for an exciting year!  Last year our 2015 season ended with the Lady Lions finishing third in the CCAA and earning a CIF DVII Playoff birth!   The Lady Lions of 2015 finished the season with a 7-8-2 record.  Jenelle F., Kelly P., Maddy M., and Savannah L. received CCAA All League honors, while Amber F. was named MVP Player for the CCAA!  2015 also saw Senior Jenelle F. signed to play at NAIA DI Dordt College in Iowa! 

Leading the Lady Lions this year is Captain Amber F. (Sr.) who will be wrapping up her senior year, where she has played for the last four years.  Amber has given a verbal agreement to play at NCAA DI Grand Canyon University for the 2016 fall season!  Standing next to her this year will be four year player Co-Captain Savannah L. (Sr) and third year player Co-Captain Maddy M. (Jr.).    

The Lady Lion Crest is located over the heart, thus representing those present and past, who are forever connected to the Sisterhood of the Lady Lions Soccer Program. Together we win. Together we lose. We are the Lady Lions of Big Valley Christian!

Ed is a graduate of Vanguard University where he received his BA in Religion and majored in Pastoral Ministries and also carries an MA from Liberty University.  He has served as an educator for eighteen years, where Ed currently serves as Sr. High Bible Teacher.  Ed has been working with young people for over two decades as a youth worker, youth pastor, educator, coach and speaker.   Playing the game of soccer at age five, he ended his seventeen year soccer career at Vanguard University where he was a four year starter.  While playing at Vanguard, Ed began coaching high school soccer which has spanned twenty-eight years.  In that time soccer has been a tool to share the faithfulness of God to his players, here at home and abroad.  The 2016 season will mark Ed's eleventh  year as the Lady Lions head coach.
